In the Name of God Amen

First I Recommend my Sole to God hoo gave it and my

Boddy to the Earth from where it Came I give to my Wife

Martha Huttly all that I am possessed of after my

Debts are paid after her Decease to my Daughter Sarah

Huttly for her and her heirs If my Daughter should

Dye under age after my Wifes Decease without to evry

Brothers and Sisters Sons or Daughters Share and Share

alike I appoint Martha Huttly my Wife to be an

Executrix and George Adams Executor to this my Will

and Mr George Adams to be trustee to all my afects

The 23rd day of October 1771,

Which day appeared personally Arthur Hogg of

Plaistow in the Parish of Westham in the County of Essex

Carpenter and Benjamin Gosse of the same place and

Parish Gentleman who being severally sworn on the

Holy Evangelists to depose that much did depose and say

as follows (to wit) that they these Deponents respectively

knew and were very well acquainted with Anthony

Huttly late of Plaistow in the Parish of Westham in

the County of Essex aforesaid deceased for several years

Before and to the time of his Death and during such

their Knowledge of and Acquaintance with his hand

often seen him write and subscribe his name and by

that means very much and well Acquainted with his manner

and Character of handwriting and Subscription and

having now carefully viewed and perused the Writing

appearing to be writ with a pencil on both sides of

the sixth leaf and one side of the fifth leaf of a the

memorandum Book hereunto annexed purporting to

be the last Will and Testament of the said deceased

beginning thus 'In the Name of God Amen First I

Recommend by Sole to God hoo gave it and my Body

to the Earth from where it Came' ending thus 'And

Mr George Adams to be trustee to all my afects' and

subscribed Anth. Huttly thus dated Oct 13

1771 and thus under wrote Mead at Littleham To say

that they verily and in their consciences believe the

whole Body and Sense of the said Will Subscription

there to made and the Sense and underscription thereof

to be wholly wrote and subscribed by and with the

proper handwriting and subscription of the said

Anthony Huttly deceased Art- Hogg Benj Go….

Same Day…..the same Arthur Hogg and Benjamin

Gosse were duly sworn to the truth of the above

written affidavit before me Francis Simpson Surrogate

present Edwd Cheslyn .N B

These are to certify that the above is a true Copy of

the last Will and Testament of Anthony Huttly late

of Plaistow in the Parish of Westham in the County

of Essex deceased which is wrote with a pencil on both

sides of the sixth leaf and one side of the fifth leaf

of a small memorandum Book with red Covers and was

carefully Collated with the said Original Will on the

thirtieth day of October in the year of our Lord One

thousand seven hundred and seventy one by me Edwd

This Will was proved at London on the thirtieth

Day of October in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven

hundred and Seventy one before the Worshipful Francis

Simpson Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipful

George Day also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or

Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury

lawfully constituted by the oaths of Martha Huttly Widow

the Relict of the deceased and George Adams the Executor

named in the said Will to whom Administration was

Granted of all and Singular the Goods Chattels and Credits

of the said deceased they having been first sworn only to Administer
