  • The Holdsworth Family


      Yorkshire, Devonshire and Hampshire

      Robert Holdsworth was baptised on 12 May 1583 in Elland, Yorkshire, son of John Holdsworth and Elizabeth (nee Savile). He was a Fellow of King's College, Cambridge, went on to become Master of Sevenoaks School, Kent, and later, in 1617, Vicar of Modbury, Devon. Robert died in 1632. About 1609, he married Mary Newman, who died in 1665.
